Food insecurity is a major issue in our communities, with many people facing hunger and malnutrition. UNA works to reduce hunger in our area through several different channels.
What is Food Insecurity?
Food insecurity is a term used to describe the lack of access to enough food for an active, healthy lifestyle. This can be due to financial constraints or because certain foods are not available in the community.
We strive to provide support by connecting those facing food insecurity with resources such as pantries, hot meals programs, and nutrition education.
We believe that everyone should have access to nutritious meals, and we are committed to providing the resources needed for individuals and families to lead healthy lives.
Fighting Against Food Insecurity
At UNA, our mission is to help create vibrant communities that are equitable for all residents. We work to ensure that everyone has access to the basic needs of life, such as food and shelter. We partner with local organizations, businesses, and government entities to provide a variety of services that help us reach our goal.
Through our programs, we are able to lessen the effects of poverty in northeastern Pennsylvania. Together we can create healthier communities and a better future for all.
